The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates announced on Friday evening that tomorrow, Saturday, marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. The Saudi Royal Court stated: "The Moon Sightings Committee at the Supreme Court held a session this evening, Friday, to consider the reports it received regarding the sighting of the Ramadan crescent for this year 1443 AH. After reviewing all the reports and reflecting on them, and in accordance with the High Court's decision No. (155 / H), since a number of trustworthy witnesses confirmed seeing the Ramadan crescent this evening, the committee decided: That tomorrow, Saturday, 1 / 9 / 1443 AH - according to the Umm al-Qura calendar - corresponding to 2 / 4 / 2022 AD, is the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan for this year 1443 AH."

The committee responsible for sighting the Ramadan crescent in the UAE, chaired by Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, also announced that tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. He clarified that the committee tasked with observing the crescent for the year 1443 AH, after thorough examination of all valid evidence and based on the confirmed sighting, and after consultations with some neighboring countries, has established the sighting of the Ramadan crescent for this year. Thus, tomorrow, Saturday, April 2, 2022, is considered the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1443 AH.

The Sharia Vision Authority in Kuwait also announced that tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of Ramadan, according to the Kuwaiti News Agency.

Countries Observing Ramadan on Sunday

The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Oman announced today that the sighting of the Ramadan crescent has not been confirmed for this year, thus tomorrow, Saturday, will complete the month of Sha'ban, corresponding to April 2, and therefore, after tomorrow, Sunday, will be the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
