Which is Better for Health: Dark or Green Grapes?

Russian nutrition expert Nuriya Dyanova announced that dark grapes contain more beneficial substances compared to green grapes. In an interview with Gazeta.Ru, the expert noted that dark-colored grapes have a high level of antioxidants and flavonoids, which protect the body from the negative consequences of poor nutrition. She added, "Eating grapes does not help treat various chronic diseases; however, it can support the body's health. Dark grape varieties contain high levels of antioxidants that help prolong the youthfulness of the body and slow down inflammatory processes." She stated, "Thanks to the presence of polyphenols in grapes, they lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of cholesterol plaque accumulation. Therefore, grapes can be considered a good means of preventing atherosclerosis." The expert pointed out that sometimes grapes can be eaten with their seeds, as chewing them well provides the body with more beneficial nutrients. However, those suffering from diabetes and fatty liver disease should avoid eating grapes. She continued, "The problem is that grapes have a high fructose content, so it is not recommended to consume more than 100 grams at a time. It is preferable to eat grapes as a snack. They can also be consumed with nuts or cottage cheese, which prevents a sharp rise in blood sugar levels."
