U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has refrained from endorsing the Trump administration's recognition of Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan, noting that the U.S. might revisit the ownership of the Golan Heights in the future.

The Russian news agency Sputnik reported today that Blinken highlighted the region's significance for Israel's security, stating: "Practically speaking, I think controlling the Golan in this situation remains of real importance for Israel's security... Legal questions are another matter, and over time, if the situation in Syria changes, that is something we will discuss, but we are in no way close to that."

For his part, Dr. Fares Al-Salmo Al-Taie, Secretary-General of the World Peace Organization for the Building of Human Beings and Countries, affirmed that if the Israelis want peace for their citizens and to coexist with the Middle East as peoples and nations, they must work seriously and adhere to the Security Council's resolutions and the United Nations Charter.

Al-Taie added that the initiative should come from the Israeli government itself, not from the United States, emphasizing the need to work seriously to achieve peace by restoring rights to the Palestinian people and returning the occupied Syrian lands to their rightful owners. He highlighted the organization's efforts to implement the provisions of the United Nations Charter globally and to reinforce relevant Security Council resolutions.

Al-Taie noted the international organization's relationships with the United Nations, the Security Council, and other international organizations through which work is underway to restore rights and ensure citizens' freedom in their countries by determining their self-determination. He confirmed that the people of the Golan remain committed to their Syrian identity, raising the Syrian flag, and pointed out that the Golan is Syrian according to international resolutions, calling on the United States to transparently address the issues and grant Golan residents the right to return to the embrace of the Syrian Arab Republic.
