Latest Developments on the Missing Helicopter in Italy

The search continues since last Thursday evening for the missing helicopter in northern Italy, carrying 7 people including two Lebanese and four Turks, in addition to the pilot. The National News Agency was able to obtain the names of the missing individuals yesterday: the Lebanese, Shadi Kraidy and Tarek Tayeh, and the Turks: Kenar Serhat, Cez Arif, Ilker Ucak, and Erbilaltug Bulent. The search is currently focused in Modena province, in the area extending from the Alps to the Apennines, specifically near the municipality of Frassinero, where it is believed that the helicopter went missing in a forested and nature reserve area due to a severe storm. It is likely that the 33-year-old Italian pilot, Corrado Liverini, an experienced professional, faced difficulty in visibility. However, efforts are ongoing using satellites to pinpoint its location. A delegation from the Lebanese embassy in Rome, headed by Ambassador Mira Daher, met with a delegation from the Turkish embassy yesterday in Modena and visited the provincial governor, Alessandra Camporota, to closely monitor the search operations. In a call made by the National News Agency with the former civil defense commissioner Antonio Carbo, he confirmed that "it is possible to find the missing helicopter today and that the location where it disappeared has been identified."
