The head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization, Brigadier General Jalali, stated that the strategy of new U.S. President Joe Biden involves gathering, reorganizing, and equipping the remnants of the ISIS terrorist organization in the region they occupy between Syria and Iraq, emphasizing that this strategy is also doomed to failure.
According to the Iranian news agency, Jalali added that "one of America's goals in founding ISIS was to create a buffer zone between Iran and Israel to ensure their security." "By defeating ISIS, we achieved for the first time in the region to defeat the U.S. military strategy in the region." He explained that "Washington could not maintain ISIS nor fragment the countries in the region, and in reality, their strategy was defeated by Iran," according to his statement.
He pointed out that "Biden's strategy today consists of gathering, reorganizing, and equipping the remnants of ISIS in the region they occupy between Syria and Iraq, to lay the groundwork for establishing an operational axis for them there. However, the Americans' failed experience proves that this will not happen again, and it is also doomed to fail."
According to the Iranian official, "America, which carries a banner of combating ISIS (banned internationally), is the largest producer, instigator, and military and propaganda supporter of terrorism in the world." Earlier this month, the Pentagon announced that U.S. forces in Syria are no longer responsible for protecting oil in the country and that their sole duty is to combat the Islamic State organization. U.S. Defense Department spokesperson John Kirby said in response to a question about the mission of U.S. forces in Syria, "The American troops deployed in northeastern Syria, currently numbering around 900, are there to support the mission against the Islamic State in Syria, and that is the reason for their presence there."
