Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün joined the series "The Ambassador's Daughter," and her addition has had a negative impact on the show. Turkish entertainment media reported that three actors have apologized following her joining.
Tuba's role as the lead in the series caused a complete change in the story, which necessitated a shift among the cast members whose roles were beginning to conclude. Actor Bulent Shakrak, who played the character "Keriman," left the show recently, bidding farewell with a message on his social media pages. In turn, actress Gozde Cagaci, who portrays "Gylan" in the series, also shared a goodbye message on her official account. Soon, actress Hayfa Zizan Alp, who plays "Elvan," will also bid farewell to the series as her role is set to conclude in the coming days.
Tuba's joining has affected the viewership ratings, which continue to decline, dropping to around 2.5 in one demographic this week, shocking followers. Turkish newspaper reports revealed that Tuba Büyüküstün received a payment of 3 million Turkish lira (over $400,000) as an advance for her contract with the production company, in addition to earning 200,000 Turkish lira (approximately $27,000) per episode, along with a percentage of the series' international sales.
It is noteworthy that Tuba is co-starring with Engin Akyürek for the second time, following their successful partnership six years ago in the series "Kara Para Aşk," which achieved significant success for them as a duo, generating excitement among the audience for Tuba's involvement, especially after the decline in viewership.
