Syrian Speaker of Parliament Receives Invitation from Iranian Ambassador to Support the Palestinian Cause

The Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly, Mr. Hamoudeh Sabbagh, received an invitation from the Iranian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria to support the Palestinian cause.

The Iranian ambassador extended the invitation during his meeting with the Speaker today at the Assembly's headquarters to participate in a virtual dialogue committee organized by the Islamic Consultative Assembly with the participation of the heads of national security and foreign policy committees, aimed at supporting and integrating with the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. Mr. Hamoudeh Sabbagh expressed his acceptance of the invitation and his active participation in the conference, emphasizing that Palestine is at the heart of every Syrian and stressing that there will be no retreat or compromise regarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Speaker of the Parliament affirmed that the struggle against the Zionist enemy is a struggle for existence, not merely a struggle for land and gains, noting that everything happening in Syria serves to strengthen this entity and impose its hegemony over the region. He thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for organizing this conference at such a sensitive, important, and pivotal time, highlighting the significance of the shared and clear positions of the two brotherly peoples and pointing out that all types of wars and blockades waged against the two countries are a result of these positions.

For his part, Mr. Javad Torkabadi confirmed the strength and depth of the brotherly relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which have resulted in victories for the legitimate causes of both countries. The Iranian ambassador emphasized the importance of the relationships and their growth between the two countries, especially in this critical phase to expose the enemies of both nations who boast about freedom and democracy.
