Lebanese artist Fadel Shaker expressed his happiness with the reception of his new song "Weinak Habib," noting that he continues his artistic journey thanks to the love and support of the people, despite the war being waged against him artistically and in every way, as well as the campaign against him by production companies, media figures, and artists.
In his talk on the program "Fan Al-Khabar," he discussed the recent rulings against him, questioning how it is possible for him to receive a 15-year prison sentence on the grounds that someone was carrying a box containing "silver thorns, spoons, and knives," which had been sent to him by someone from Sweden. The individual was detained at a military checkpoint and sentenced to 6 months, ultimately being released after his innocence was confirmed, while Shaker received a 15-year sentence. He stated, "What can I say? It's shameful for a state to judge an artist like me. Go ask Fairouz about me; the great artists know my value. Shame on you."
He also called on the Lebanese state to summon Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir and question him about whether he had indeed provided him and his group with financial assistance, asserting that if they confirm this crime, he should be sentenced to 70 years instead of 7.
He added, "I am fighting a lot; these mediocre artists are not leaving me alone, but despite all this, I continue and record my songs with my modest means under a zinc roof, not in world-class studios." He continued: "Nothing will happen to me because I am an original and real artist, not like those artists who appear on Lebanese channels, allowing low-quality songs to infiltrate every home due to their greed for a handful of dollars."
He continued his address to the concerned parties: "Show the documents you have as evidence for my trial," adding, "I have been living in the camp for 8 years and they keep pursuing me. Is it possible that they are disturbed by my voice to this extent? God willing, I will remain a thorn in their side, and nothing will happen to me."
He concluded by confirming that he will continue to deliver refined and authentic art, and that these individuals he described as "lowlifes" will not prevail against him. He further remarked that they will not "be able to even touch my shoes, and those among you who are real men should stand in my way; if there is an international production company, they know they are fraudsters," adding: "The Lebanese media, show what you have against me."
