Al-Ahli Dubai Club has signed UAE football star and international playmaker Omar Abdulrahman, known as "Amouri," until the end of the current 2020-2021 season in a free transfer deal, following the player's contract termination with Al-Jazira Club earlier this month.
Al-Ahli’s statement acknowledged the successful acquisition of the Emirati football star and international playmaker Omar Abdulrahman until the end of the season. Al-Jazira Club had announced on February 1 through its official Twitter account that it had mutually terminated its contract with Omar Abdulrahman. The club expressed gratitude to the player for his contributions and wished him success in his professional and personal career.
It is noteworthy that Amouri transferred to Al-Jazira after finishing his contract with Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal on August 8, 2019. The 29-year-old player has faced injuries, with his last appearance in a match recorded on October 23.
Amouri has won 10 local titles with Al-Ain, most notably the UAE Pro League on four occasions, and he led his national team to victory in the Gulf Arab Cup "Khaleeji 21" in 2013. Currently, Al-Ahli team is in fifth place in the UAE Pro League standings with 25 points after 15 rounds, while Al-Sharjah is at the top with 36 points.
