A British man did not enjoy the new home he had recently bought when fear gripped his heart after he found a doll in an unexpected place, accompanied by a handwritten threatening letter. The British newspaper "Daily Mail" reported that Jonathan Lewis, 32, received the keys to his new house in Surrey, southern England, on Friday. After entering the house, he noticed a thin support column under the stairs and wanted to see what was behind it. After removing part of the column, he found a doll wearing a dress, holding a written message that the British newspaper claimed was chilling in its content.
The letter detailed how the doll had managed to kill the previous owners of the property in 1961, adding, "I hope you sleep well." However, the real estate agent informed Lewis that the column was new, built only four or five years ago, which suggests that the current owners placed the doll and the murder message there.
The letter read: "Dear reader/new homeowner... My name is Emily. The original makers lived in this house in 1961. I didn't like them, so they had to leave." It continued, "All they did was sing annoyingly, and stabbing them to death was my option, so I hope you have knives."
