Widespread Criticism: Couple Sets Conditions for Visitors to Their Newborn

A British couple, whose identities have not been revealed, has faced widespread criticism due to a list of conditions they imposed on individuals wishing to visit their newborn child. These conditions include bringing gifts and performing household chores, among other things.

The list requires guests to do housework throughout the home, purchase food for the family, and provide pre-determined gifts, as well as refrain from wearing deodorants or perfumes during the visit.

The mother stated on Reddit that bringing gifts is essential during visits; however, if guests cannot afford gifts or food, they should complete household tasks instead.

The list of conditions also includes avoiding smoking, getting vaccinated against COVID-19, not holding the baby without permission, and keeping distance if the guest feels unwell.

The parents ask guests to schedule their visits a week in advance, limiting the visits to no more than one hour, prohibiting selfies with the baby, and refraining from advising the parents on how to care for the child.

One condition stipulates that a gift for the baby from a pre-prepared list by the parents must be brought on the first visit, while subsequent visits require guests to bring groceries and food.

The 34-year-old mother explained that the list was aimed at minimizing visits and treating everyone equally.

The parents have faced a storm of criticism on social media, with many comments expressing strong discontent with the conditions, describing them as violations of social etiquette, according to the British Daily Mail.
