Sources in "Beit al-Wasat" reported that, for now, nothing will change for Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, who remains committed to an 18-minister government. Any change in the number of ministers would lead to further disputes, particularly regarding Druze representation. If any change occurs, it will only be within a clear commitment to external support.
According to Lebanon 24, Hariri's close associates stated that playing the sectarian card for populist gain will not benefit former MP Gibran Bassil, and this tactic has become transparent to the Lebanese people. The "Future Movement" responded to the statements made in the press conference held by National Free Movement leader Gibran Bassil, asserting that the lengthy discourse the Lebanese heard regarding the government, the constitution, and standards reiterates positions that offer nothing new and do not provide even a small crack in the walls of obstruction and delay.
A statement from "Future Movement" indicated that Bassil’s remarks reflected all that applies to him regarding the causes of failure, obstruction, suspension of constitutional processes, and accusations of betrayal and lack of loyalty against President Saad Hariri, attempting to hold him responsible for the issues faced by the current term and his political team. "Future Movement" considered that Bassil "is still residing in (La La Land)," imposing a form of house arrest on the presidency in denial of the changes that emerged after October 17, and views Hariri's resignation and response to popular movements as a form of political betrayal.
