Egyptian journalist Yasser Rizk revealed in his book "Years of the Five Decades Between January Uprising and June Salvation" some aspects of Mohammed Morsi's presidency after January 2011. Rizk stated on "Sada El Balad" channel on Tuesday that General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi believed the issue was not whether Morsi could rule Egypt, but whether he wanted to. He emphasized that Morsi did not dream of this position and adhered to the principle of obedience to the "Brotherhood" organization.
He added that Anne Patterson, the American ambassador to Egypt at that time, confirmed that there were six people ruling Egypt, none of whom were Morsi. Despite this, the armed forces provided Morsi with four strategic assessments addressing the seriousness of the situation in the country.
Rizk explained that Sisi requested a meeting with Morsi after the events at the presidential palace. He further mentioned that Sisi had no ambitions of his own and, in 2013, told Morsi, "Your project is finished." He indicated that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas informed the Egyptian president that Morsi had shown willingness to concede 1,600 kilometers of Sinai to the Palestinians.
Additionally, Rizk noted that Morsi "said one thing and did another," and that Major General Al-Assar served as the liaison officer between the armed forces and the presidency. He referenced May 11, 2013, the day of the military inspection carried out by the Ninth Division in Dahshur, which was the first military inspection attended by civilians (writers, intellectuals, and civilians). During this event, Sisi spoke about the importance of standing by the ballot boxes for long hours instead of the army acting against the will of the people, warning the Brotherhood that "the army is fire, do not play with it."
Rizk pointed out that Sisi affirmed in Dahshur that the armed forces always side with the people, marking the day when the public became acquainted with General Abdel Fattah Saeed Sisi after he also announced the seven-day ultimatum, which ended on June 30.
