Basma Wahba appeared in a video shared on her official Instagram account, revealing that she suffered a medical error at a beauty center whose name she chose not to disclose, resulting in facial muscle paralysis.
In the video, Basma said, "A month ago, I was very sick, and I couldn't open my mouth or eat or use a fork, spoon, or even a piece of bread. By chance, I was in Dubai and went to a very skilled doctor who told me it was stress and that I had muscle paralysis, and my jaw muscles were tense and needed physical therapy and medication." Basma added, "I took the medications and underwent physical therapy, and actually, I didn’t see any improvement, so today I went back to her and told her there was no improvement, and she performed another endoscopy, and she was surprised. I told her I didn’t have stress."
She continued, "The doctor reviewed my situation until she remembered from her questions that I had Botox and fillers done a month ago and had an injection in my jaw that affected my vocal cords, which messed everything up."
Basma concluded the video by saying, "I want to draw a line and not talk about who did this to me or the place since it is a very reputable place and I could be an isolated case of a mistake. I just want to tell people to be cautious and mindful of us and to be careful when approaching these areas, and the doctor told me she doesn’t want my voice to be loud."
