Security Meeting in Preparation for Elections

The Governor of Mount Lebanon, Judge Mohammed Al-Makay, chaired a meeting of the sub-security council in his office at the Baabda Serail. The meeting was attended by the Public Prosecutor of the Mount Lebanon Appeals Court, Judge Nazek Al-Khatib, the Commander of the Military Region of Mount Lebanon, Brigadier General Walid Abdul Ghani, the Head of the Mount Lebanon Intelligence Branch, Colonel Tony Maouad, the Commander of the Mount Lebanon Traffic, Colonel Jihad Asmar, the Head of the Mount Lebanon Information Branch in the Internal Security Forces, Colonel George Khairallah, the Regional Director of the State Security Agency in Mount Lebanon, Colonel Marwan Safi, the Head of General Security of Mount Lebanon, Major Antonios Qazzi, the Head of the second General Security Department in Mount Lebanon, Major Zahir Yahya, the officer in charge of the Information Branch in General Security of Mount Lebanon, Major Walid Asbar, and the Commander of the Baabda Judicial Division, Colonel Imad Al-Jamal.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor Al-Makay explained to the attendees the importance of completing the parliamentary election process and the preparations underway for its completion, stressing the necessity of ensuring the safety of the electoral process in a stable security environment that reassures citizens until the elections are over and the final results are announced. He emphasized that this requires full security readiness and coordination among various security and military agencies. Governor Al-Makay also informed the attendees about the administrative measures taken by the governorate to distribute the ballot boxes to the heads of polling stations and their assistants according to a precise mechanism prepared by the governorate.
