Death Strikes Dhafer L'Abidine... His Colleagues Console Him

Tunisian artist Dhafer L'Abidine posted a picture with his mother on his official Instagram account, announcing her death early on Saturday.

He wrote: "To God we belong, my dear mother 'Aziza' passed away this morning. I will miss you so much; I will miss your dignity, kindness, and unconditional love. I love you. May God have mercy on you." The cause of death, as well as the time for the funeral and condolence gathering, have not been disclosed. Fellow artists offered words of consolation, noting the strong resemblance between L'Abidine and his late mother.

Dhafer also received messages of sympathy from his colleagues in the series "Bride of Beirut," including Carmen Bsaibes, Ayman Abdel Salam, Alaa Al-Zoubi, Joe Tred, Maram Ali, Fares Yaghi, Maya Saeed, and Mohamed Al-Ahmad. Many artists expressed their condolences, including Maxim Khalil, Rania Youssef, journalist Mona Abu Hamza, Mahmoud Hegazy, Maiyra Abdelaziz, Shaimaa Saif, and Yasmin Abdel Aziz.

It is worth mentioning that Dhafer L'Abidine participated in the series "Bride of Beirut," which is currently airing and is the Arabic version of the Turkish series "Istanbul Bride." Dhafer plays the character "Fares Al-Daher," who falls in love with a simple girl from Beirut named "Thuraya," portrayed by Lebanese artist Carmen Bsaibes, and marries her challenging his mother's authority and societal traditions. The Tunisian artist faced some criticism for not mastering the Lebanese dialect, but in the second season of the series, viewers noticed that L'Abidine had improved his dialect skills compared to the first season.
