The Lebanese artist, Najwa Karam, received a "Golden Visa" from the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, February 28. With this, she joins a group of celebrities who have also been granted this residency.
Najwa Karam shared a collection of photos from the moment she received the "Golden Visa" on her Instagram account, writing: "I had the honor today of receiving the golden residency from the sisterly UAE, may God bless its leadership and people."
In this way, Najwa Karam has joined several artists and celebrities who have received the "Golden Visa" in the UAE, including Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan, Lebanese artist Ragheb Alama, Lebanese media personality Annabella Hilal, and Tunisian artist Latifa.
The United Arab Emirates announced, on Sunday, November 15, a new system called the Golden Visa, aimed at non-UAE nationals.
It explained that the categories eligible for the "Golden Residency" include: all holders of doctorate degrees, all doctors, engineers in the fields of computer engineering, electronics, programming, electrical engineering, and biotechnology, university graduates with an accredited average of 3.8 or higher, those holding specialized certificates in artificial intelligence, big data, or epidemiology and viruses, as well as the top high school graduates in the country along with their families.
Mohammed bin Rashid confirmed that "this is the first batch and that there will be more batches to follow later."
