Saudi Arabia Welcomes Release of Secret Documents on 9/11 Events

The Saudi Embassy in the United States welcomed the release of secret documents related to the terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001. In a statement, the embassy called for the continuous disclosure of all materials related to the attacks over the past twenty years. The Kingdom has always demanded transparency regarding the September 11 tragedy, stating, "As previous investigations have revealed, including the 9/11 Commission and the release of the so-called '28 pages,' there has been no evidence whatsoever that the Saudi government or any of its officials had prior knowledge of the terrorist attacks or were involved in any way in planning or executing them."

**False Claim**

The statement continued, "Any claim that Saudi Arabia was complicit in the 9/11 attacks is a baseless allegation with no supporting evidence. As confirmed by the administrations of the last four U.S. presidents, the Kingdom condemned and denounced the heinous crimes committed against its ally and partner, the United States." Additionally, it stated, "Saudi Arabia is well aware of the threats posed by Al-Qaeda through its ideology and terrorist actions. The Kingdom, along with the United States, was a primary target of Al-Qaeda even before the 9/11 attacks. The Kingdom has spared no effort, alongside the United States, in combating terrorism and extremism in all its forms."

**Counterterrorism**

The statement emphasized, "Saudi Arabia takes pride in its record of combating terrorism, including its efforts to disrupt terrorist financing, its comprehensive strategy to counter extremist ideology, and its efforts to weaken and defeat terrorist organizations throughout our region." It confirmed that the Kingdom is a key partner to the United States in combating terrorism, stating, "Together, our countries faced ISIS in Iraq and Syria, inflicting significant losses on Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and ISIS in Yemen, among other successes. There is no doubt that the coordinated efforts between the Kingdom and the United States to confront and counter terrorist plots over the past twenty years have saved the lives of thousands of Saudis and Americans."

**Full Disclosure of Documents**

The statement emphasized that Saudi Arabia, as one of the countries targeted by global terrorism, understands the pain and suffering of families who lost loved ones on that unforgettable day. It concluded, "The previous declassification of materials related to the 9/11 attacks, such as the '28 pages,' confirmed the 9/11 Commission's conclusion that the Kingdom has no connection to this crime. It is regrettable that such false allegations continue, and in contrast, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can only reiterate its ongoing support for the complete declassification of any documents and materials related to the U.S. investigation into the terrorist attacks, hoping that the full disclosure of these documents will finally put an end to the unfounded claims regarding the Kingdom."
