Details of the International Defense and Naval Defense Exhibitions in the UAE

The UAE has announced the program and details of the International Defense Exhibition "IDEX" and the Naval Defense Exhibition "NAVDEX," which will take place from February 21 to 25 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

This announcement was made during a press conference held yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The Emirati newspaper Al-Bayan reported that the exhibitions will be organized by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company "ADNEC," in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the General Command of the Armed Forces. The latest advancements in defense industry technology, innovative equipment, and the development of the national defense industry in the UAE will be showcased. The "IDEX" and "NAVDEX" exhibitions are also expected to highlight the advancement of the national defense industry in the UAE and foster strategic partnerships among various participants and leading global companies specialized in these sectors.

During the press conference, Lieutenant General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al-Mazrouei emphasized that the "IDEX" exhibition has contributed to supporting the national and international defense industry since its inception, reinforcing the UAE's position and vital role locally, regionally, and globally. He noted that the two exhibitions are considered vital international strategic events that have successfully evolved into comprehensive global platforms showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in land, naval, and aerial defense that align with the advancements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Lieutenant General Pilot Issaak Saleh Mohammed Al-Balushi, Assistant Undersecretary for Defense Industries and Capability Development at the Ministry of Defense and Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee, mentioned that 19 hotels surrounding the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre have been designated to accommodate international delegations and visitors for the event. He pointed out that these hotels will be equipped with PCR testing centers in collaboration with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi. Shuttle services from and to these hotels for international delegations will also be provided.

More than 24 experts and specialists from various countries will participate in person and virtually in the exhibitions, while over 2,000 leaders and experts from the global defense sector from 80 countries will join virtually. The current edition of the exhibitions will feature more than 900 exhibiting companies from 59 countries, along with the participation of 35 national pavilions.

The exhibitions are expected to attract over 70,000 local and international visitors during the five-day event, in addition to 110 confirmed international delegations. Over 500 media representatives from 64 countries around the world are anticipated to cover the event. Five countries have announced their participation for the first time in this edition: Israel (which announced yesterday the cancellation of its participation due to the closure of Ben Gurion Airport), North Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, and Portugal.
