Swift Operation in Jerusalem Lasts 10 Seconds; 7 Settlers Injured

An Israeli bus carrying settlers in the Mughrabi neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem was targeted in a shooting this Sunday morning, injuring at least 7 Israeli settlers, two of whom are in critical condition, according to Israeli media. Israeli paramedics reported that 7 wounded individuals were transported from three different nearby locations around the Mughrabi Gate in Jerusalem. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority mentioned that the shooting in Jerusalem lasted between 10 to 15 seconds and was carried out by a single person who fired 10 bullets at the bus and two vehicles before fleeing.

Channel 12 claimed that the shooter in the Old City of Jerusalem targeted a bus, a car, and pedestrians. The Israeli police stated in a brief that "a short while ago, police were notified of gunfire directed at a bus near the Tomb of David in Jerusalem (the Buraq Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem), resulting in several injuries." They reported that large forces have closed off the attack area near the Mughrabi Gate and are conducting extensive searches for the gunman.

According to Israeli media sources, searches for the shooter are taking place throughout the streets of Jerusalem while elite forces, known as "Yamam," are operating in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem. The sources indicated that police are currently cordoning off the Silwan neighborhood in search of the bus shooter. Additionally, the occupation police have surrounded a house in Silwan suspected to harbor the shooter.

The Israeli occupation police stated that their members have closed the area and begun investigating the case, hunting for the suspect who fled the scene. A spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) described the "heroic operation in Jerusalem" as a confirmation of the ongoing and escalating resistance in occupied Jerusalem. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Islamic Jihad Movement expressed support for the "heroic operation in Jerusalem" and emphasized that it is part of the ongoing resistance against the occupation.

Furthermore, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine praised the "heroic operation in Jerusalem," asserting that the resistance of our people continues in all forms. The Popular Resistance Committees also endorsed the "heroic operation" in occupied Jerusalem, viewing it as a direct response to the crimes of the occupation.

The Jerusalem attack followed assaults by occupation forces on the city of Hebron in the West Bank, which, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, resulted in 4 martyrs. These assaults coincided with the assassination of the commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades affiliated with Fatah, Ibrahim al-Nabulsi, and two of his companions in the city of Nablus. This attack also comes after Israel launched a military operation on the Gaza Strip 10 days prior, which resulted in numerous martyrs and injuries among Palestinians.
