The Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naeem Qassem, confirmed Hezbollah's readiness to cooperate in forming the government when the "government formation is available", revealing that there are indications of the return of the French initiative, commenting, "But we do not yet understand its limits and the extent of its seriousness."
Qassem reiterated that there is no connection between Iran's decisions and Hezbollah's decisions regarding the government formation file, stating that "Hezbollah in Lebanon is working to form the government and wants it without any relationship to anyone regarding its stance on the government file." Sheikh Naeem Qassem emphasized that the important and only matter for Hezbollah is the Zionist presence in the region, noting that "there is no room in the foreseeable future for discussion between America and Hezbollah, and we see no benefit in sitting with them since the dialogue has known outcomes beforehand, which is that America will grant (Israel) gains."
During his talk with Al-Nour Radio, Sheikh Naeem Qassem opined that the Biden administration would be a phase of discussions with Iran to try to restore the nuclear agreement as it is, "even if this matter takes some time." He explained that what Iran is proposing is America's return to the nuclear agreement, allowing Iran to adhere to the requirements of the agreement, as there is "a new agreement before returning to the old agreement."
Sheikh Naeem Qassem clarified that Hezbollah is not part of the American-Iranian negotiations, neither currently nor in the future, pointing out that the issues discussed by Iran with America relate to the nuclear agreement and the interests of the two countries.
