Amal Arafa: I Will Be Absent from the Ramadan Season for This Reason

Syrian artist Amal Arafa announced to her audience on social media that she will be absent during the upcoming Ramadan season.

Amal Arafa clarified that the reason for her absence is the lack of good scripts, writing on her personal Facebook page: "My friends, this year I will be outside the Ramadan season, although I do not prefer this phrase, for several reasons, the most important being the lack of good scripts. At least what has been offered to me so far. Wishing all the best for those who continue to preserve art and artists." Her colleagues deemed her decision timely; artist Qassem Mahlou said: "Amal Arafa, your status is high and preserved, at least that's my opinion," while Firas Ibrahim commented on her post: "Sometimes absence may be more important than presence. Your value is preserved, Amal, and our longing for your unlimited creativity keeps us in a constant state of anticipation for everything new you present." Farah Arabi Katbi commented: "This is better than doing something you're not satisfied with. I'm sure you wouldn't do that. Wishing you all the best, dear heart; all good if God wills."

They also expressed sadness over her decision, with one commenter writing: "Absent from the screen but always in our hearts," and another stating: "The truth is your absence is a huge loss for the audience, the drama, and comedy, even though you remain in our hearts and minds." It is worth mentioning that Amal Arafa's last work was the series "Shari' Chicago," written and directed by Mohamed Abdel Aziz, in which she played the role of the dancer Samar, achieving high viewership across the Arab world.
