Iraq's Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, announced the killing of the "Deputy Caliph and Governor of Iraq" in the ISIS organization, Abu Yasser Al-Issawi, in a qualitative intelligence operation.
Al-Kadhimi stated in a press release today, "The leader of the League of Evil, or whoever calls himself the Deputy Caliph and Governor of Iraq, has been eliminated." He added that the Iraqi people keep their promises, saying, "We promised to respond with a thunderous blow to the terrorist ISIS gangs, and the response came from our heroes." He regarded this achievement as a victory and said, "Thank God for this victory; long live Iraq."
It is noteworthy that the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Yahya Rasul, confirmed last Monday in a statement reported by Alsumaria News that important documents related to ISIS were found in Baghdad and Ramadi as part of the operation dubbed "Avenging the Martyrs."
Rasul added that there is a directive to protect Iraqi blood and citizens' security, emphasizing the importance of intelligence efforts and unifying intelligence agencies under the supervision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He confirmed that a series of measures are in place to reconsider the strategy aimed at continuing to dismantle the remaining ISIS hideouts, indicating significant collaboration among all security forces in Baghdad and other provinces in the fight against terrorism.
The Islamic State (ISIS) had killed 11 members of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces in an ambush north of Baghdad, where the attack was carried out at night using light weapons east of Tikrit, the center of Salah al-Din Governorate, two days after suicide bombings in the heart of Baghdad that resulted in the deaths of 32 civilians, which were claimed by the extremist group.
