Milan Draws and Qualifies for the Round of 16 in the Europa League

The "San Siro" stadium hosted the match between Italian club AC Milan and Serbian club Red Star Belgrade in the second leg of the Round of 32 of the Europa League for the current season 2021-2022.

AC Milan qualified for the Round of 16 of the Europa League after drawing 1-1 with Red Star Belgrade. Milan's Frank Kessie opened the scoring in the ninth minute from a penalty kick, while Red Star's Alvaro Vejin equalized in the 24th minute. The first leg, held last Thursday in Belgrade, ended in a 2-2 draw. Frank Kessie celebrated his goal by raising a shirt of Atalanta's young player, Willy Braciano, who passed away due to cancer at the age of 21. Notably, this result compensates AC Milan fans for Napoli's disappointing exit against Granada in the same round of the continental competition, where the Rossoneri aim to achieve the title to affirm the importance of their outstanding performances both locally and internationally.
