Syrian artist Abbas Al-Nouri stated that social media has several benefits, the most important being that it provides people with a wide margin to express their freedom.
He pointed out that Facebook has become a major platform for expression for many people today, especially since the Arab community lacks freedom of expression. He described Facebook as a solution to this issue. Al-Nouri acknowledged that despite the advantages of Facebook, it is also filled with lies, forgery, and fake accounts, which he sees as its negative side. He referred to it as a "platform" that all users should respect and treat responsibly.
Al-Nouri emphasized that, while he uses these platforms, he is also influenced by them and strives to remain authentic. He expressed this by saying, "What I want to say is that I am a man who loves my true self in life and makes a great effort to be real, even if it costs me my flaws, and I love my flaws and don't feel ashamed of them, because we all have flaws, and if anyone's flawless, they are welcome to speak on their platform."
He shared good news with his followers, saying he has regained access to his Facebook page after it had been hacked. He added, "Of course, those who hacked the page are skilled in everything but understanding this platform, because the platform has ethics."
Al-Nouri thanked his followers and those who helped him regain his page, stating, "I want to thank you all and tell you that life teaches everyone and I am learning, and I still want to learn. I am not ashamed to learn from the youngest person. I especially want to thank those who helped me." He concluded with the statement, "Anyone who wants to be among the most important people must understand that all people are more important than him, and that's where his importance begins."
It is noteworthy that Abbas Al-Nouri had announced about two weeks ago that his official Facebook page had been stolen, indicating that there were specific parties behind this act. He wrote on Instagram at the time, "Important alert: Please be informed that my verified page has been hacked and I can no longer access or write on it," threatening those responsible with consequences if he could not recover it.
