A Trick to Listen to Voice Messages on WhatsApp Discreetly

Sometimes receiving a voice message on WhatsApp can be bothersome, especially when headphones are not available. The content of the message might be private, and it is often undesirable to listen to it in front of others. A technical trick resolves this issue. Voice messages on WhatsApp can be controversial; some prefer and frequently use them in place of text messages, while others find them annoying, especially since they may reveal the speaker's secrets and private matters.

One of the main problems with receiving voice messages on WhatsApp and other applications is the loudness, as the sound automatically plays through the external speaker, allowing others to hear it if the phone is not connected to headphones. However, Focus magazine pointed out a useful technical trick to receive voice messages while avoiding this problem.

**How to Listen to the Message?**

According to the German magazine, smartphones and the WhatsApp application support the phone's motion and its distance from the ear. Therefore, the sound of the received message is amplified through the external speaker, as your phone detects that you are holding it and that your ear is far from it.

When you receive the voice message, open the chat with the voice message and press play. The sound will come through the external speaker as usual. Now, put the phone to your ear, and the device will detect this change and instantly switch the sound from the external speaker to the earpiece.

You can also share part of the message with others by moving the phone away from your head, and the sound will return to the external speaker again. Additionally, you can alter the phone's position and switch the sound multiple times during the message without needing to listen from the beginning, as the sound will transition smoothly and automatically.
