The Director of Political Administration in the Syrian Army, General Hassan Suleiman, affirmed that the Syrian Arab Army is actively confronting any violations targeting the de-escalation agreement in the areas encompassed by this agreement. He stated that they are fully prepared to respond to any threat or aggression against safe civilians or our military sites and positions.
During the joint Syrian-Russian press conference, General Suleiman mentioned that support from certain regional and international parties for terrorist organizations poses a major obstacle to our joint efforts with our Russian friends, indicating that these parties do not want security and stability to return to Syria, as that contradicts their colonial agendas and ambitions in our region as a whole. General Suleiman reiterated that the Syrian Arab Army, in cooperation with friendly Russian forces, will continue to carry out its missions aimed at eliminating terrorism, protecting civilians, restoring security and stability to every inch of Syria, and enhancing the national reconciliations achieved in many areas, particularly in southern Syria, despite attempts by some armed group leaders to obstruct these reconciliations by refusing to hand over weapons or leave the area.
General Suleiman emphasized the importance of consolidating security and stability and establishing peace in all regions through settlements that will ensure the return of many people to their homeland, actively contributing to building and reconstruction, and thwarting suspicious external attempts aimed at destabilizing security, spreading chaos, and prolonging the war in Syria.
On his part, the representative of the Russian Reconciliation Center, General Sitnik Vyacheslav Borisovich, pointed out that a process is underway to settle the status of citizens in Daraa province. As of now, the statuses of over 2,000 citizens (including 100 defectors) have been settled, which is more than three times what was planned in December of last year.
Borisovich indicated that the Russian Reconciliation Center, in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment, is working on studying the reconstruction of infrastructure in Syria, which will pave the way for the return of Syrian refugees to their places of residence, revealing that the priority is to rebuild residential houses, medical institutions, schools, food industry facilities, electrical facilities, and water pumping stations.
