Abdul Ilah Zakaria, the General Coordinator of the "Future" Movement in Akkar and President of the Union of Municipalities of Jurd al-Qeita, emphasized the "necessity of unifying efforts and rallying around all security institutions, especially the Internal Security Forces under the leadership of Major General Imad Osman, during these difficult times facing Lebanon." He affirmed the "important role of this institution, which is relied upon for stabilizing Lebanon and restoring its leadership role in institutional governance."
In a statement, Abdul Ilah wished for the state to "look with compassion towards the Lebanese citizens, who are living through their worst days amid difficult economic and health conditions and the decision for a total lockdown," especially since the state has not provided any alternative or financial compensation to citizens due to the lockdown, particularly for daily workers and those depending on their daily labor for their livelihood. Zakaria also wished for a quick recovery for the three officers in the Information Branch and for all the injured in Tripoli, along with mercy for the young martyr Omar Taybeh, praying that "his family be granted patience and solace."
A young man passed away after being injured during clashes last Wednesday evening with security forces in the city of Tripoli, northern Lebanon. News agencies reported that the victim was a 30-year-old man, and his body will be prayed upon following the noon prayer at the Bab al-Tabbaneh cemetery.
