Hezbollah Mourns the Mujahid, Thinker, and Prominent Researcher Anis Naqash

Hezbollah mourned the mujahid, thinker, and prominent researcher, Professor Anis Naqash, President of the Aman Network for Strategic Studies, who passed away due to complications from the coronavirus in a hospital in Damascus.

The National News Agency reported this evening that Hezbollah lamented the loss of Professor Anis Naqash in a statement, extending its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones, and asking God Almighty to grant him His vast mercy alongside the righteous martyrs. The party noted in its statement that the deceased was one of the most significant thinkers and researchers in the region, providing numerous important research papers and strategic studies that contributed qualitatively to the comprehensive confrontation with the Zionist enemy.

The statement further highlighted that the late Naqash spent many years of his life as a resistance fighter, actively advocating for the Palestinian cause in both heart and mind, inspiring the free people everywhere to support and defend its wronged people. He staunchly defended the honorable resistance in Lebanon and its political and jihadist choices in various local and international forums.

Hezbollah's statement added that the late Naqash stood by the Islamic Republic of Iran against siege and aggression, championing its just concepts and noble values, and confronting conspiracies against Arab Syria during the global war waged against it by terrorism and its international and regional sponsors.

Lebanese thinker and political analyst Anis Naqash passed away today at the "Hisham Sinan" hospital in the Syrian capital, Damascus, at the age of nearly 70, due to COVID-19. It is noteworthy that Anis Naqash worked as a political analyst and was the coordinator of the Aman Network for Research and Strategic Studies. Born in Beirut in 1951, he joined the ranks of Fatah Movement in 1968, holding several positions there, and was also involved in student activism and organizational work in Lebanon. Naqash was imprisoned for ten years in France after the attempted assassination of former Iranian Prime Minister Shapur Bakhtiar in Paris, and was released in 1990.
