WhatsApp is Working on Polls Feature for Groups

WhatsApp is adding a feature that has been available for years on the Telegram app, which helps users create polls in group chats. Polls are a great way to interact with a large group of people and are very useful for making decisions or gauging friends' opinions on an idea. Telegram, another popular instant messaging app, has had this feature for quite some time, and WhatsApp is now testing it with its users.

WABetaInfo was the first to discover this feature in WhatsApp for iOS beta version v2.22.6.70. The feature is still in development, so it is not currently available to public beta testers. The polls option will be available only in WhatsApp groups and will be end-to-end encrypted, including the responses provided by other users. End-to-end encryption is common in WhatsApp, and it will also be present for the polling feature, meaning that only people in the group will be able to access the poll and its results.

There will be a new user interface featuring a text field for your question, accompanied by a create button and a cancel button. However, since this feature is still in development, it is unknown what the maximum number of options will be, whether there will be any limits on the number of responses, or the duration for which you will be able to vote.

As this is a beta feature, no official release date has been announced yet. As usual, beta testers will first learn how this feature works while WhatsApp works on fixing any bugs and improving it before launching it to the general public, according to PhoneArena.
