Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram urged Lebanese officials to protect women from violence by tightening strict laws, emphasizing that images of violence exist around the world, but other countries impose strict legislation, unlike Arab states.
In an interview with CNN, the Lebanese artist pointed out that despite aspirations, there is nothing to deter this violence from the male-dominated society. She clarified that she is not against this society but hopes that men will support women so they feel safe and protected rather than fearful. She added: "There is no life in the world without two, meaning a man and a woman, between whom there is equality for there to be continuity in life." She advised and recommended many things to her daughters, noting that generally, parents teach us that life and experiences help us learn from mistakes.
Nancy mentioned that her daughters love all her songs, and her youngest daughter particularly enjoys her song "Leya," noting that she resembles her greatly in vocal tone. She continued: "Dad tells me she has moves; I had the same moves when I was little."
Nancy Ajram also stated that she has completely finished her new album, saying: "The timing of releasing my work is important to me, but what is happening in society prevents me... But how can I present an album I enjoy in these circumstances we are living in?" She added: "The style that people love me for is divided, and I don’t step out of it. It includes solo pieces, Western beats, and new arrangements, as well as delightful melodies and nice topics, and it will be released soon. Maybe one or two songs will drop before the full album... I want to shoot a song with Samir Seryani and Raga Naimi, and there are directors I've worked with and love to work with again."
The artist concluded by sharing that she has encountered many funny situations during her performances and shows throughout her career, but her concert at Cairo Stadium in Egypt remains one of her most memorable moments. She recalled that she held a concert around this time last year and was surprised by about 100,000 people at the stadium.
