After losing contact with activist Luqman Sleem for hours without knowing his whereabouts despite attempts to reach him, his body was found in his car between Al-Adousiya (Zahrani) and Taffihta in an area near the highway. A security source informed "An-Nahar" about the presence of two bullet traces in the vehicle.
His sister, Rasha Al-Amir, tweeted: "My brother Luqman Sleem left Niha in the South 6 hours ago heading back to Beirut, and he has not returned yet. His phone is not responding. There is no trace of him in hospitals. Anyone who knows anything about him, please contact me, thank you." As of now, there is no information regarding Sleem's mysterious disappearance and the reasons behind it.
For its part, the National Civil Front condemned the disappearance of writer and political activist Luqman Sleem and called for immediate disclosure of his fate. They discussed during their regular meeting the repercussions of the events in Tripoli, the authorities' continued intimidation and starvation of the people, and their insistence on rehabilitating themselves even at the cost of looting international aid, leading to developments related to the launch of the opposing National Civil Coalition.
The National Civil Front added that the collapse and failure are due to more than just obstructing the formation of an essential government; it's about the continuous disregard for the constitution, the disruption of institutions, the oppression of the people, the tightening of freedoms, and the destruction of social justice. This necessitates that active social forces adhere to the option of enforcing reforms and convince the world of the legitimacy of supporting the demands of the Lebanese people through the expedited establishment of the opposing National Civil Coalition as a means to build a new Lebanon.
