Former President Donald Trump's status as the largest fundraiser in the Republican Party remains intact, as his fundraising committee raised $7.2 million in January alone, according to American network "Fox News." With January’s amount added, Trump's campaign contributions reached a staggering total of $123.8 million. According to the report, the latest fundraising figures are another indicator that, 13 months after leaving the White House, Trump remains the most popular and influential politician in the Republican Party, continuing to play a kingmaker role in the Republican primaries amidst speculation about his candidacy for the presidency in 2024.
Taylor Budowich, Trump’s communications director and fundraising campaign manager, stated: "President Donald Trump’s political organizations are positioned to take his message (America First) to races across the country." Budowich added: "As fundraising continues to grow, President Trump is committed to investing in his movement to ensure the Republican ticket wins on election day." He continued: "Unlike any Republican before him, President Trump continues to bring an unprecedented amount of dollars and new donors to the movement, an effort that benefits candidates and influences election outcomes."
Trump raised $51 million during the second half of last year and ended 2021 with a balance of $122 million in his coffers. Trump's funds dipped below $2 million, while over $7 million was raised last month, indicating that the former president’s committees have begun to spend the raised funds. The report noted that Trump's fundraising is unprecedented for a former president, as is the number of endorsements he has provided so far in this election cycle. To date, Trump has supported over 100 candidates in gubernatorial and Senate races throughout the voting period.
