The Chief of Staff of the Yemeni army, Lieutenant General Saghir bin Hamoud bin Aziz, confirmed today, Monday, from the province of Marib, that the army forces, supported by the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy, will soon resolve the battle against the Houthi militia. He praised the coalition's role in working towards restoring stability in Yemen, as well as the roles of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
**Field Developments**
On the ground, fierce battles are ongoing between the Yemeni National Army backed by the resistance against the Houthi militias on three fronts surrounding the province of Marib. Military sources confirmed to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath reporter on Monday that more than forty Houthi elements were killed in the southern and western fronts of Marib, with field gains achieved by taking control of locations previously held by the militias in the open area between Qurn al-Bour and Jabal al-Lajma east of Jabal al-Balq, as well as in the vicinity of Jabal al-Radhah towards the Mal'aa Pass on the southern front.
**Breach of Militia Fortifications**
In the western front, field sources confirmed the intensification of battles and a breach of the militias’ defensive fortifications towards the village of al-Zour in recent hours after the national army launched a wide attack that extended to Rawdat Jham. Additionally, the Giant Forces thwarted Houthi attempts to infiltrate through mountainous chains and valleys to the bottom of the Mal'aa Pass from the southern side, inflicting significant losses on the militias.
**New Phase of Attack**
These developments came after the national army and resistance forces began implementing a new phase of attack to liberate the districts in southern Marib, following the securing of extensive desert sites. It is noteworthy that since February 2021, the militias have intensified their attacks on oil and gas-rich Marib, despite all international and UN warnings about the dangers threatening the lives of thousands of displaced persons; nevertheless, the army forces repelled them, launching high-quality operations against the Houthis over a month ago. Currently, approximately 3 million people live in the city of Marib, including about one million who have fled from other areas in Yemen.
