Wonder of the Seas: The Largest Ship in the World Prepares to Set Sail (Video)

After approximately three years of construction, the world's largest cruise ship, named "Wonder of the Seas," is getting ready to welcome passengers. The ship, delivered to the American company Royal Caribbean in January, stands 362 meters tall and is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Caribbean on March 4. The delivery of the ship was originally scheduled for 2021 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This 18-deck cruise ship, built at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, has the capacity to accommodate 6,988 guests and 2,300 crew members. The giant vessel consists of 8 neighborhoods, one of which contains over 20,000 plants, and features the longest waterslide at sea, as well as a ten-deck tall free-fall slide and a huge cinema screen.

Ticket prices range from $760 to $1,200 depending on the duration and itinerary of the trip. Among the travel conditions, all passengers over the age of 12 must be vaccinated against COVID-19, and children over the age of two must have a negative virus test result before sailing. Additionally, all travelers are required to wear masks in most indoor public areas, according to recommendations from health authorities in the United States.
