The Egyptian and Greek naval forces conducted a passing maritime training exercise within the northern fleet's area.
The official military spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ahmed Tamer El-Rifai, stated via his official Facebook account that the Egyptian Navy executed a passing naval training exercise alongside the Greek Navy in the Mediterranean Sea. El-Rifai revealed that the exercise involved the Egyptian frigate "Taba" and the Greek warship "HS HYDRA F-452" after a successful visit to the Port of Alexandria. He added that the training was part of the General Command's plan, aimed at deepening the exchange of expertise with the armed forces of brotherly and friendly nations. He noted that various professional training activities were carried out.
The official spokesperson emphasized that these exercises support the pillars of joint cooperation between the Egyptian and Greek armed forces, which have extensive experience in these areas. Additionally, they aim to enhance efforts to utilize bilateral capabilities to achieve mutual interests for both sides and support maritime security and stability in the region. It is worth mentioning that the last naval training between units of the Egyptian and Greek navies took place in the Aegean Sea north of the Mediterranean in November of last year, where units conducted several training activities to enhance maritime security procedures in the Mediterranean and achieve compatibility in combat operations between the Egyptian and Greek fleets.
These exercises were conducted during the return journey of naval units following the Egyptian-Russian joint training event "Bridge of Friendship - 3," which was carried out in the territorial waters of Russia, and is part of the General Command's plan to strengthen and support military cooperation and to exchange expertise with friendly countries. The units participated in multiple activities, including sailing formation exercises, communication drills, and training activities to bolster maritime security measures in the Mediterranean and achieve interoperability in combat tasks between the Egyptian and Greek fleets. The training contributes to sharing mutual experiences between Egypt and Greece, enhancing bilateral capabilities to achieve the interests of both parties and strengthen military cooperation between the Egyptian and Greek naval forces.
