The leader of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, announced that "the results of the elections were resounding, marking the loss of Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement of their duality." He pointed out that "Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stated in his speech yesterday that there is no majority, while the truth is that the alliances formed by the elections agree, at least on key fundamental points regarding sovereignty, the presence of weapons outside the Lebanese army, and the issue of corruption."
In a speech following a meeting of the Strong Republic Bloc, he said, "The current climate of lies, distortion, and deception leads to confusion regarding the largest bloc in the parliamentary council. If I were in Bassil's place, I would choose a location on the 17th floor underground to sit there. With what face can he claim victory?" He added, "We are the largest bloc in the council, and we will assume our responsibilities on that basis."
He continued: "It has become apparent that we need to clarify to the people that our bloc consists of 19 members, while theirs consists of 18, including Mohammad Yahya. Those who prevented the FPM from functioning literally 'quack' with them on their lists throughout Lebanon, awarding them Sليم عون, سامر التوم, and إدغار طرابلسي."
Geagea addressed the newly elected deputies, saying: "Starting next Sunday, we all bear responsibility, and we cannot evade it. It is unacceptable to adopt the narrative of 'they didn’t let us.' I invite you to coordinate properly and fulfill our electoral commitments without deviating left or right. Our goal is real change."
He pointed out that "the Lebanese Forces have very clear specifications for the Speaker of the House that do not apply to President Nabih Berri, and any serious candidate must commit to adhering to the internal regulations of the assembly literally, to electronic voting, and to not closing the council under any circumstances while working to restore full strategic decision-making to the government. Therefore, we will not vote for Berri." He confirmed, "These matters are not personal with Berri, but his political positioning is completely different from our project, and we will see who aligns with our project and the specifications I have proposed."
Geagea affirmed that elected MP Ghassan Hasbani possesses all the qualifications to be Speaker of the House, but emphasized that they are open to negotiation and will never compromise on the political project. He stated, "We have always said there is no salvation without parliamentary elections, as the current majority 'brings us nothing.' I hope every citizen reflects seriously on what has happened in order to achieve the required change." He stressed that "the responsibility for Lebanon lies with us as Lebanese and not with foreign powers, and ultimately we reached the required change through the elections."
Geagea thanked the security forces, especially the army and security forces, for their presence across all Lebanese territories during the election process, except in Baalbek-Hermel, noting that "it was not easy to conduct the elections as they were held in the difficult circumstances we are living." He mentioned that "some staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attempted to obstruct the voting of expatriates and acted in a narrow partisan manner."
He expressed that "the actions that took place in Baalbek-Hermel are unacceptable, particularly regarding the expulsion of representatives in the presence of security forces. Nevertheless, the breakthrough achieved could have been even greater had the electoral process been conducted properly."
