Mohammad Haddaqi: I Don't Consider Myself a Big Star, and My Worst Trait is Being Anti-Social

The Syrian artist Mohammad Haddaqi stated that his worst trait is being anti-social, describing his state as individualistic rather than isolating.

In an interview with the show "What’s the Story" hosted by media personality Rabiaa Al-Zayat, he mentioned that he sees no difference between women and men in friendship, as he has many close female friends. He noted that one of his closest friends in the artistic community is the artist Fadi Sobhi.

Haddaqi spoke about his marital life, revealing that he got married and divorced twice, clarifying that the separations were amicable between him and his ex-wives. He does not hold his wives responsible for the divorces, viewing them as solutions to problems, and decisions mutually agreed upon. Regarding his second ex-wife, media personality Sidra Al-Atasi, he felt he wronged her, as he considers himself a difficult man. He noted that the age difference was an additional reason, believing that Sidra is still too young for marriage. Moreover, he stated that Al-Atasi's decision to travel abroad for an extended period was the main reason for their separation, emphasizing that he still loves her and hinted that the possibility of reconciling is very much present.

On the artistic side, the Syrian artist said he does not regard himself as a big star but rather as a recognized actor, preferring to be called an actor instead of a star, as he sees the term "stardom" as a marketing description.

Haddaqi reminisced about his childhood, recalling that he was subjected to mockery from friends. He said that he spent his childhood in Libya, and when he returned to Syria, his accent was different and strange to his surroundings. He described his childhood as harsh due to his family's poor financial situation, noting that he started working at a young age, with his first job being carrying and transporting items, and later working as a painter before selling from a cart.

He also mentioned that one of the toughest experiences he faced during his studies was being unjustly expelled for an entire year from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts due to failing a subject, which he attributed to cheating he had committed.
