Large Fire Breaks Out in Tripoli Municipality

A fire broke out in the Tripoli Municipality following clashes with protestors throwing Molotov cocktails during the Tripoli protests.

The National News Agency reported that its correspondent in Tripoli stated that protestors moved from Abdul Hamid Karami Square to the Tripoli Municipality, where they began throwing stones and Molotov cocktails, resulting in a large fire inside the building. The agency clarified that Lebanese Army personnel intervened and pushed the protestors away from the Tripoli Serail to Abdul Hamid Karami Square (Nour) and then to the branching streets. It was noted that some protestors threw stones at the offices of the nearby "Conxx" company and at buses parked in their lot.

The National News Agency's correspondent in Sidon reported that a group of young people set up a tent on the sidewalk opposite the Natout Garden at Eliya Roundabout in Sidon, calling on citizens to take to the streets and squares in solidarity with the protestors in Tripoli. The agency indicated that this was preceded by a march that started from the intersection square and roamed through the streets and neighborhoods of the old city of Sidon, rejecting the extension of the general lockdown, the deteriorating living conditions, and the rising dollar price.

Furthermore, the agency's correspondent in Zahle reported that a number of protestors cut the international road at Chatora-Dahr al-Baydar near the Jdita high junction with burning tires in both directions.
