Historic Record Awaiting Mohamed Salah Today

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, player of English club Liverpool, is aiming to achieve an unprecedented record in the opening match of his team in the English Premier League today, Saturday. Salah is expected to lead Liverpool's attack against host Norwich City in the first round of the Premier League for the 2021-2022 season.

If Salah scores in today's match, he will become the first player in history to score in the opening round of the Premier League for five consecutive seasons. The Egyptian "Pharaoh" has successfully found the net against his opponents in the last four seasons during Liverpool's opening matches, a feat he currently shares with Teddy Sheringham, the Tottenham Hotspur striker, who achieved it first in the 1992-1993, 1993-1994, 1994-1995, and 1995-1996 seasons.

Salah scored against Watford in the opening match of the 2017-2018 season, then repeated the feat against West Ham United the following season, before doing so against Norwich City the season before last, and last season, he also managed to score against Leeds United.

Salah has a golden opportunity in today's match; if he manages to find the net, he will achieve a historic record that is difficult to reach in the near future. Salah began this impressive streak in his first appearance for the club four years ago against Watford, where he beat goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes to put the Reds ahead 3-1 in the match.

The Egyptian international was on the scoresheet again on the opening day of the 2018-2019 season, giving Klopp's team a close lead against West Ham United after scoring from Andy Robertson's cross. The 2019/20 season, in which Liverpool won the title, started elegantly twelve months after their 4-0 win over West Ham, where the Reds scored four goals against Norwich City in a comfortable evening at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah made an effective foot movement inside the penalty area and shot into the bottom left corner, surpassing goalkeeper Tim Krul to double the team's lead. The Reds maintained their scoring tradition for fun in the opening weekend of the third season last year, after defeating Leeds United 4-3 at home. Mohamed Salah, wearing Liverpool's number 11 shirt, returned to peak form once again, scoring a hat-trick, thanks to two penalties and a powerful shot that surpassed Leeds' goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Mohamed Salah now has the chance to enter the record books if he scores against Norwich City this Saturday afternoon.
