The South Korean company "Samsung" did not wait long to mock its main competitor, "Apple," after the unveiling of its latest smartphone, the "iPhone 13." "Samsung" mocked two prominent features of the "iPhone 13": the continued presence of the top camera notch and the 120 Hz refresh rate. The official Twitter account of "Samsung Mobile" in the United States tweeted: "Imagine it still has a top camera notch in 2021."
In another tweet, the South Korean tech giant pointed out that it had introduced a 120 Hz refresh rate some time ago and is currently developing it further. "Samsung" included the hashtag of its latest smartphone, "Galaxy Z Fold 3," which features a full display thanks to the camera technology located under the phone's screen.
"Samsung's" mocking tweets came on the same day that "Apple" announced its new phone, the "iPhone 13," on Tuesday, September 14. It is noteworthy that "Samsung" previously ridiculed the "iPhone 12" last year for lacking a charger in the phone's box, unlike its own smartphones.
Last Tuesday, "Apple" revealed a new model with a larger battery called "iPhone 13 Pro" and "iPhone 13 Pro Max." The biggest distinction between the traditional "iPhone" models and the "Pro" models is that the latter includes three rear cameras. As for the traditional models, "Apple" stated that the "iPhone 13" would have a smaller front camera "notch" at the top of the screen, in addition to larger batteries that offer devices between 1.5 and 2.5 hours more battery life compared to last year's models, depending on the device size.
Aside from that, the new phone largely retains the same design as last year but features newly arranged camera units at an angle. "Apple" mentioned that one of the cameras is a 12-megapixel wide lens with a larger sensor that captures 50% more light. The other lens is an ultra-wide one.
One of the camera improvements is the new "cinematic mode," which can stabilize focus on a moving subject. According to the company, the phone has a brighter display and comes in two sizes, 5.4 inches and 6.1 inches, and five colors. The phone is powered by a new chip designed by "Apple," called "A15 Bionic," which has six cores and a specialized section to run artificial intelligence algorithms.
Like last year's model, this year’s "iPhones" will also have the ability to connect to 5G networks, and the company states it is working with telecom operators in 60 countries. The company announced that the price of the "iPhone 13 Mini" is $699, while the "iPhone 13" price is $799, the same prices as last year, with devices starting at 128 GB of storage, an increase from last year.
