On Tuesday, American technology company Apple launched its annual September event, revealing new versions of its smartphone, tablet, and smartwatch. During the conference, the company introduced the iPhone 13, a budget iPad, and a brand-new model called the Mini iPad, alongside the seventh generation of the Apple Watch, as reported by CNBC.
The new iPads will be available for sale immediately following the event, while shipments of the Apple Watch Series 7 are expected to begin later this fall.
## Highly Anticipated iPhone
Among the most anticipated announcements of the conference, the company revealed a new model with a larger battery named the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple has designated its most advanced phones with the "Pro" label in recent years, starting at a price of $999.
The key distinction between the traditional iPhone models and the Pro models is that the latter includes three rear cameras. For the standard models, Apple stated that the iPhone 13 features a smaller front camera "notch" at the top of the screen, along with larger batteries offering between 1.5 and 2.5 hours more battery life than last year's models, depending on the size of the device.
Other than that, the new phone largely retains the same design as last year with new camera modules arranged diagonally. Apple noted that one of the cameras is a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with a larger sensor capturing 50% more light. The other lens is an ultra-wide lens.
One camera enhancement is the new "cinematic mode," which can lock focus on a moving subject. According to the company, the phone features a brighter display and comes in two sizes, 5.4 inches and 6.1 inches, and five colors.
The phone is powered by a new chip designed by Apple called the A15 Bionic, which includes six cores and a specialized component for running artificial intelligence algorithms. Like last year's model, this year's iPhones will have the capability to connect to 5G networks, with the company stating they are working with carriers in 60 countries.
The price for the iPhone 13 Mini is set at $699, while the iPhone 13 is priced at $799, which aligns with last year's prices. Devices now start with a storage capacity of 128 GB, up from last year.
## New iPad Features
During the event, which was viewed by more than two million people via live stream, CEO Tim Cook unveiled a new version of the iPad. It comes equipped with the faster A13 chip, an improved 12-megapixel front camera for better video calls, and a wider lens to capture more people in one shot, enhancing wireless connectivity experience with LTE.
The tablet costs $329 with a storage capacity of 64 GB, which is an extra storage option but at the same price as before. It will be available for sale next week.
Apple also announced the all-new iPad Mini, featuring a smaller 8.3-inch display. It has been designed with a simpler new interface and smaller bezels, featuring a 12-megapixel rear camera and stereo speakers.
The fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the top button, which also turns the screen on and off, and it uses a USB-C connector instead of the company's traditional connector. Its price starts at $499 and will reach stores next week.
