President Michel Aoun signed Decree No. 9129 dated May 12, 2022, regarding the appointment of cost of living allowances for employees and workers subject to labor law. The decree states the following:
**Article One:** An increase in the cost of living is added to the monthly minimum wage set by Decree 7426/2012 and to the monthly salary that the employee was receiving on March 1, 2022, as follows:
1. For a monthly salary not exceeding 4,000,000 L.L. (four million Lebanese pounds): 1,325,000 L.L. (one million three hundred and twenty-five thousand Lebanese pounds).
2. For a monthly salary exceeding 4,000,000 L.L. (four million Lebanese pounds): the amount determined by collective agreements and negotiations in accordance with what is specified in the International Labor Organization agreements ratified by Lebanon, particularly the International Labor Organization Convention on the Minimum Wage No. 131 ratified by Legislative Decree No. 70 dated June 25, 1977.
**Article Two:** An increase in the cost of living is added to the official minimum wage set by Decree No. 7426 dated January 25, 2012, and to the daily wage that the worker was receiving on March 1, 2022, as follows:
1. For a daily wage not exceeding 182,000 L.L. (one hundred eighty-two thousand Lebanese pounds): 61,000 L.L. (sixty-one thousand Lebanese pounds).
2. For a daily wage exceeding 182,000 L.L. (one hundred eighty-two thousand Lebanese pounds): the amount determined by collective agreements and negotiations in accordance with what is specified in the International Labor Organization agreements ratified by Lebanon, particularly the International Labor Organization Convention on the Minimum Wage No. 131 ratified by Legislative Decree No. 70 dated June 25, 1977.
**Article Three:** The increases granted by this decree are considered as earnings that form the basis for calculating contributions to the National Social Security Fund in accordance with what is specified in Article 68 of its establishment law.
**Article Four:** The provisions of this decree apply to all employers and employees subject to the provisions of the Labor Law issued on September 23, 1946.
**Article Five:** This decree shall be published and communicated where necessary and shall take effect starting from April 1, 2022.
