Warning from the United Nations about Climate Warming

The United Nations warned in a new report that climate warming could reach 2.6 degrees Celsius by the end of the century due to current commitments to combat greenhouse gas emissions. However, countries are not adhering to their commitments, and the current trajectory is leading to a temperature increase of 2.8 degrees Celsius, according to the United Nations Environment Program report. Both paths result in warming that exceeds the target of the Paris Agreement on climate change, which aims to limit the temperature increase to "well below" 2 degrees Celsius and, if possible, to 1.5 degrees.
