Reuters reported that the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics announced a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit West Java, but no tsunami warning was issued. The quake occurred 22 kilometers from the city of Sukabumi at a depth of 104 kilometers. Witnesses told Reuters that residents felt tremors in the capital, Jakarta, and surrounding areas.
