Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz threatened Lebanon, stating, "If Hezbollah targets our infrastructure, Lebanon will pay a heavy price." He noted that "the maritime border demarcation agreement with Lebanon will harm Iran's interests." For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid announced his rejection of Lebanon's reviews on the proposed maritime border demarcation. He said, "We will halt maritime border negotiations if Hezbollah targets the Karish field." He added, "We will not concede our security and economic interests, even if it means there won't be an agreement soon, and we will extract gas from Karish as soon as possible."
