Musk:

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, stated that the number of individuals registering as new users on the social media platform has reached an "all-time high," amid a mass exodus of advertisers and users fleeing to other platforms due to concerns over account verification and hate speech. Musk tweeted that the average number of subscribers exceeded two million daily during the seven days ending on November 16, representing a 66% increase compared to the same week in 2021. He also mentioned that the number of minutes users spent actively on the platform was at a record level, averaging nearly eight billion minutes per day over the seven days ending November 15, which is a 30% increase compared to the same week last year. Advertisers on Twitter, including major companies like General Motors, Mondelēz International, and Volkswagen, have temporarily suspended their ads on the platform amid a dispute with Musk. The company laid off half of its workforce in communications, content moderation, human rights, and machine learning ethics teams this month, along with some production and engineering teams.
