A member of the "National Moderation" bloc, MP Saji Atyeh, revealed to the "Anbaa" electronic newspaper that "there is no government on the horizon, and despite the lack of consensus and the prolonged vacuum awaiting us, Lebanon is closer to electing a president than to forming a new government." He pointed out that "the disagreement revolves around the demands of MP Gebran Bassil and the shares he wants." Regarding the session to elect a new president on October 13, Atyeh anticipated that the quorum for the session would not be met, preventing it from being held. "However, if the quorum is achieved, we will participate and vote for 'Lebanon' in principle, but are waiting to see what develops next week."
