Piccadilly Circus, one of the major tourist attractions in the British capital, has been adorned with 30,000 lights in celebration of Ramadan, marking the first time London has witnessed such festivities. The lights were also turned on in Coventry Street during an event attended by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
The Aziz Foundation, in collaboration with local authorities, oversaw the initiative to hang Ramadan decorations in the square. Last week, the foundation shared images of the decorations on its Twitter account, stating: "We are proud to sponsor the beautiful Ramadan decorations and lights initiative in Piccadilly Circus. We hope all friends and family will visit the place to celebrate this solidarity initiative for everyone."
