China has unveiled its latest digital news anchor, an "artificial intelligence" entity that provides news coverage 24/7. The anchor, a virtual young woman named Ren Xiaorong, introduced herself on Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, in a video posted by the official newspaper "People's Daily."
Ren appeared wearing a black blazer and had her long hair styled behind her ears, announcing that she utilizes the professional skills of "thousands of news anchors" to broadcast news "24 hours a day" for 365 days. She stated in a robotic tone, "The individual feedback you provide will help me improve."
